Edmond I. Griffin, MD
Dr. Griffin is a Board Certified Dermatologist and Dermatologic Surgeon and a recognized expert in the field of dermatological surgery specializing in hair replacement surgeries. Not only do U.S. surgeons (ENT, Derm., and Plastic) visit and observe Dr. Griffin's techniques but surgeons also come from other countries. In addition to training others he gives lectures at the national meetings of the American Academy of Dermatology and also those sponsored by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Since 1976 Dr. Griffin has specialized in hair replacement surgery and has devoted his resources and time to improving this specialty. Dr. Griffin regularly attends conferences, workshops, congresses, and forums wherever they are held both in the U.S. and abroad and exchanges the latest information on all aspects of continuing education about hair replacement. He has worked individually with Dadour of Paris, the Ungers of Toronto, Alt of Minnesota, Mayer and Fleming of Beverly Hills, Pitanguy of Rio de Juaniro, Yarborogh of New Orleans, and Barrnet of New York.
After growing up in Albany, Georgia, Dr. Griffin completed his B.S. in chemistry at the University of Georgia. He earned his M.D. degree from the Medical College of Georgia. After interning at the Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital in pediatrics, he was commissioned in the U.S. Navy and stationed at Norfolk, Virginia where he was assigned to a pediatric clinic. This term was followed by three years at the Mary Hitchcock Hospital at Dartmouth College for his residency in Dermatology.
Dr. Griffin is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. He is a member of the clinical faculty at Emory University Medical School and is on the staffs at Scottish Rite Children's, Northside, and St. Joseph's Hospitals. In addition Dr. Griffin is an active member of the Atlanta Dermatology Association, American Society of Liposuction Surgery, American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery, Medical Association of Georgia, and American Medical Association.
