Walking through a woman's locker room you will probably hear various complaints about beauty downfalls such as cellulite, wrinkles, and dry skin. You will also undoubtedly be privy to exclamations of pride or disgust over one of the body's most talked about parts: the butt. Many women (and men) are obsessed with the look, shape, and feel of their buttocks and there is a procedure that can help you improve your behind however you choose. What is a buttocks augmentation and who is a good candidate?
The buttocks augmentation is a procedure that was developed to help people enhance their rear and subsequently improve their opinion of their physical appearance and possibly even their social life. A buttocks augmentation, sometimes known more exotically as the Brazilian Butt Fill, is only completed by a select number of qualified surgeons so make sure you are seeing a certified professional and not someone who is out to make quick buck. Often times women will opt for a buttocks augmentation to balance the size of their breasts with their butt. Men and women alike choose to have this procedure to improve a flat or poorly developed butt but there are a couple types of augmentation to choose between: the classic cosmetic implant and the butt fill which incorporates actual fat deposits into the buttocks. The latter option, a fat grafting technique is often the preferred method because it provides a more natural result. During this method excess fat from areas called "donor sites" in the body is removed and simply re-deposited in the buttocks. Fat cells from one's own body are easily accepted and meld into the new location quickly and easily thus allowing for a smoother process with less room for complications. If, however, the patient does not have an abundance of fat and cannot give up enough for the procedure then alternative options will be discussed during the initial consultation between patient and doctor. Good candidates include people who wish to reshape and enhance their butt. Potential patients need to be in good health and be prepared to discuss all health history and possible risk factors prior to going in for the actual procedure. During the one and a half to two hour procedure the patient will be given general anesthesia to prevent discomfort. Either implants will be inserted or the fat re-allocation will be done ending with a perfect behind anyone would be proud to show off any time of year. The full effects will be evident within six to eight weeks after the procedure. During the recovery time it is important that patients wear compression garments for two to three weeks. They can return to work in two to three days and progress to light exercise after two weeks. Postoperative massage and ultrasounds are recommended as part of the recovery regimen to help in healing and comfort. The largest risk is that the fat will be reabsorbed into the body after six to eight weeks. There is a 30% chance for this to occur to patients need to have enough excess fat to cover a second grafting if necessary. Minor complications are rare but can include bleeding, infection, asymmetry, and scars. If you go to a qualified and experienced physician you will not need to worry about adverse side effects.
