Randy Birken, MD, FACS, FACOG
After completing his training at Baylor College of Medicine in 1980, Dr. Birken began a general ob/gyn practice in North Houston. His interest in female urology led to further training in uro-gynecology and a change to a subspecialized practice in gynecology, gynecological surgery, female incontinence, and pelvic reconstruction."In office aesthetic procedures always fascinated me, and with the advancement of laser technology, amazingly simple and safe cosmetic procedures became a reality."
Dr. Birken thoroughly researched the science and practicality of in office lasers and chose the Cutera Cool-Glide system and Intense pulse light. Further training and certification, as directed by the Texas Board of Medical Examiners, permits him to offer these services to patients.
In addition to his medical degree, Dr. Birken has a Master's in Liberal Arts and has taught undergraduate literature. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine and has written two books being considered for publication, as well as a novel.

Interesting plastic surgery and health facts about Houston
Houston is hands down the most cosmopolitan and vibrant city in Texas, known primarily for its innovative spirit and unwavering determination in the fields of energy, aerospace, communications, and most importantly, medicine. Home to the world-renowned Texas Medical Center, the most ground breaking researchers, surgeons, and teachers call Houston their home.
The Texas Medical Center, just next to West University Place and south of downtown Houston, is easily accessible from all outlying areas such as Pearland, Friendswood, Katy, Spring, and The Woodlands. The recently implemented Metro rail system makes the area even more accessible and will eventually connect most of Harris County with the Medical Center.
Houston’s fabulous and world-class locations at the Galleria and at Highland Village in River Oaks gives residents and visitors endless opportunities for recreation, special events, and economic growth.
