There's Still Time to Ensure Your Turkey Neck Doesn't Make an Appearance at Thanksgiving Dinner Thanks to Innovative Tuliplift
Two-Hour Minimally Invasive Outpatient Procedure Takes 10 Years off Appearance with only a 10 Day Recovery Time - Results Last Up to 10 Years
Los Angeles, CA (Vocus/PRWEB) November 7, 2008 - Thanksgiving is less than a month away, but there is still time to make sure your turkey neck (and the accompanying sagging jowl and facial skin) doesn't make an appearance at this year's holiday feast and December parties. Los Angeles dermatologist Dr. David Rahimi, director of Forever Young, has developed a breakthrough version of the "mini facelift" called a "Tuliplift" - a two-hour procedure that can take 10 years off the aging face and requires only seven to 10 days recovery time.
Far less invasive and safer than most conventional facelifts and even mini facelifts, the Tuliplift is an outpatient procedure requiring only local anesthesia with mild sedation. The patient stays alert throughout the procedure and is able to go home that day. And, unlike traditional "mini facelifts" the Tuliplift is also customizable to address patients' specific problem areas. "Most facelift patients don't want to look drastically different - they want to look like themselves only a few years younger. The Tuliplift provides this balance," said Dr. Rahimi. "I always ask my patients to bring in photos of when they were 15 years younger so to help guide the process and help me achieve the natural, more rested look they are seeking." At first blush, there are some similarities between the Tuliplift and traditional "mini facelifts," said Dr. Rahimi. "For example, neither procedure requires cutting into the hairline so patients don't get that "pulled look. Also, the Tuliplift and "mini facelifts" are safer procedures because all the work gets done above the major nerves. But that's where the similarities end." According to Dr. Rahimi, Tuliplift is different in the following ways: Literally inspired by the shape of Tulip flower petals, the sutures are placed in a way that allows them to address the complex problems of the aging face. The first "petal" pulls the face horizontally and slightly up, tightening the skin under the eyes and the cheek area. The second addresses the jowls, tightening along with conservative jowl liposuction, to restore a youthful jaw line. The third deals with the sagging neck area - permanent sutures placed under the skin and fatty layer tightening the muscles of the neck and lower face and ensure long-lasting and natural results. Dr. Rahimi then uses the sutures to individualize the lift for each patient, customizing as three lifting levers to achieve the desired results from a light refreshing to a more aggressive change. When considering minimally invasive "face lifts" requiring only local anesthesia, Dr. Rahimi said many of his patients' weigh the difference between his Tuliplift and the highly publicized Lifestyle Lift. "I've been doing the Tuliplift with only local anesthesia since 2000 and am glad to see other doctors are starting to take this safer approach.
There are a few other similarities between the two lifts, but the distinguishing difference is I remove excess skin and fat from the neck and tighten the neck muscle, which the Lifestyle Lift does not. It makes a significant difference in the overall aesthetics and my patients are very happy with the results." Recognizing his work, especially with the Tuliplift, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery awarded him with a fellowship to share his philosophies and teach the finer art of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery to other physicians.
