VAL’s concept uses a cannula that is activated by air pressure. The air pressure moves the tip in a circular displacement, "nutation," and allows for an easier evacuation of fat from the treated area. The new technique is less traumatic because fat extraction becomes more effective and in turn, needs fewer passes of the cannula by Dr. Johnson.
