Well Known Orange County Dermatologist, Keynote Speaker for Solta Medical's Thermage and Fraxel User Forum
Fraxel and Thermage parent company Solta Medical selected Nissan Pilest, MD to head a special user forum held at UCI's Beckman Laser Institute. Dr. Pilest presented specialized user education to dozens of surgeons and dermatologists.
IRVINE, CA, June 07, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- When does 1 plus 1 equal 3? When you combine the power of fractional laser and radio frequency technologies. Well known Laser Dermatologist Nissan Pilest was selected to be the keynote speaker at Solta Medical's User Forum held at Beckman Laser Institute this past month. Solta is the parent company for the newly combined technology brains of Reliant, makers of the innovative Fraxel laser systems , and Thermage, the patented leader in radio frequency skin tightening. Dr. Pilest was chosen for his long term experience in cosmetic laser applications and his recognized authority as a laser educator and speaker.
The marriage of Thermage and Fraxel has created an opportunity to allow head to head studies of combined cosmetic laser applications and their end efficiency in restoring skin quality and firmness. Dr. Pilest shared with dozens of other surgeons and dermatologists the methods of obtaining a synergistically superior end result by combining these two technologies. "Thermage has long been recognized as a safe and effective modality for firming mild to moderately lax skin. Although results are typically not at the levels of surgical procedures, for many patients the improvements have been very satisfying and in the hands of a practiced Thermage provider, the results can excel," shared Dr. Pilest. "By combining the additional firming effects of fractional resurfacing with the Fraxel lasers, patients can achieve even more visual and palpable firming along with a return of vastly improved skin quality, color and smoothness." Dr. Pilest was the first Dermatologist in Orange County to use the Fraxel Re:pair laser and has consistently stayed abreast of Thermage's therapies for skin tightening of the face, neck and body and has recently incorporated the company's new Body Tip 16 which speeds up treatment and combines firming with visual cellulite improvement to the abdomen, buttocks and thighs. "Patients literally leave the office with a reduced circumference in the areas treated. It's quite amazing." The attending physicians were given opportunities to engage in discussion of pros and cons of both nonsurgical means of skin tightening and fractional resurfacing plus fractional skin coagulation which is used for acne scarring and melasma. Solta Medical's Western Regional Manager Julene Cray, commented after the presentation, "Your enthusiasm, clinical experience and ability to include the other physicians in the discussion/presentation at the Beckman Laser Institute this past weekend was very effective and created a great learning environment. Thank you so much for your time, expertise and excellent presentation."
