Jillian Michaels, fitness expert famed for her work on The Biggest Loser, drops by The Doctors today to shed some light on weight loss.
Weight loss is a daily struggle for many women. Trying to balance it all out; exercise, eating healthy, and of course work, children, our homes and some semblance of a personal life can be very difficult. While trying to keep all those balls in the air it's easy to find an excuse to pick up some quick fast food on your way home or skip the workout. In Jillian Michaels' visit to The Doctors today, she discusses ways to find time in your day to make sure you eat right and get in that much needed, calorie burning exercise to help achieve balance; on the scale and in life. She suggests setting realistic goals and educating yourself on the foods you eat and checking labels closely. Also, if you can't afford a gym membership or fancy exercise equipment, The Bartendaz stop by to show there are many isometric exercises you can do in your own home without the need for specialized equipment. Finally, for those under a time crunch, she suggests High-Intensity Interval Training (HITT) which is a combination of strength training and cardio designed to get your heart rate up and strengthen the muscles which will keep you burning calories long after the workout is complete. For those who have a lot of weight to lose, they may consider medical weight loss. A weight loss program designed for you by your doctor and/or nutritionist can often be the way to go. Many people find that the motivation of having a doctor hold them accountable is a great driving force towards success. Even after all of the exercise and dieting, often times there are stubborn areas of fat that just won't seem to tighten up no matter what you do. Luckily there are several minimally invasive procedures and also several non-surgical procedures available now to help.
