Dave E. David, M.D., nationally recognized Cosmetic Surgeon, TV Medical News Analyst and Recipient of the 2008 Patients Choice Award, speaks out against the proposed Obama legislation to tax Botox injections.

The administration talks about a "stimulus package", but by taxing a commodity that can stimulate the economy, the economy is being stifled.

Interestingly it's been evident that over that past year with the economy sagging, that more and more people are actually opting for minor facial cosmetic procedures, not for vanity, but out of necessity.

"For middle aged men and women to compete with the younger generation for the few jobs, they're needing to look younger and more vibrant", says Dr. David.

"Additionally, these minor procedures are much more frugal than full blown surgery and hence while people are trying to be sensible with their dollars, they will nevertheless be taxed on this expenditure"

Dr. David, who also performs the new VASER Liposelection, a minimally invasive liposuction that does not require anesthesia, also is finding that patients are opting for this method of body sculpting as opposed to the more invasive and major procedures.
