Today, The Doctors discuss Lisa Connell, a 29 year old terminally ill woman whose dying wish is to have plastic surgery.
At 29 years old, British woman Lisa Connell has been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. Since then, she's done much with her time, notably, starting a charity whose aim is to raise 1 million pounds for brain tumor research called www.rentadateforcharity.com. There is something she wants for herself as well, plastic surgery.
On her blog she writes "I have to live whatever life I have left to the fullest and be as happy as I can with myself and if that means that having surgery is going to make me happier then that’s just what I need to do." While it has been said that she wants the surgery to help her look more like actress Demi Moore, she writes that in fact she doesn't, but does consider Demi to be a beautiful woman.
The Doctors discuss whether or not it is appropriate for Connell to undergo surgery when she is already a beautiful woman. Dr. Drew Ordon suggests she may suffer from body dysmorphic disorder, in which a person has difficulty seeing their body as it is. They may want to have surgery to correct a phantom problem.
According to her blog, Connell has a long bucket list and among the items she's accomplished is a breast augmentation procedure. She writes also that she'd like to have veneers and a trip to a health spa. Also among the other 100+ items are to sing in a band and meet David Beckham.
