The Plasmablade May Be a Cut Above the Rest
Peak Surgical's Plasmablade may be just what the doctor ordered.
The Plasmablade combines the precision of a scalpel and the coagulation benefits of electrosurgery while sparing the tissue damage. Cosmetic surgeons are finding this to be a useful tool in their practice. The innovative Plasmablade cuts patient bleeding by 60 percent and patients report decreased bruising and an easier recovery. The device also allows for greater surgeon precision. 
Dr. Robert Zubowski of the Robert Zubowski MD Center for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is one of a handful of clinics that use the Plasmablade. He says, "this is the next evolution in our field. Our patients are experiencing less swelling and bruising than those patients who underwent a traditional face lift, tummy tuck, and breast reduction with better outcomes overall. This is especially true when used in combination with Tisseal, a fibrin tissue glue which minimizes bruising and swelling by promoting adherence of soft tissues at the time of surgery." He uses the PlasmaBlade for several different applications, including breast augmentation and facelift surgeries. With several blade options available, the PlasmaBlade has uses outside of the cosmetic industry and was awarded 2009 Medical Design Excellence Award.
