Recently FDA Approved Sculptra Featured on The Today Show
Sculptra may be the answer for those who want to take years off their face but are not comfortable with Botox's freezing effects, leading many to ask "is it better than BOTOX?"
Sculptra was originally developed for AIDS patients who often wind up with a hollowed cheek effect. Although it's been used here off label for years and in Europe since the late 90's, only recently did it gain FDA approval for cosmetic use in the US. Sculptra works slowly by stimulating collagen growth under the skin. While one downside is that it takes a while for the effects to show, the upside is that the effects have been known to last as long as three years. Many see the wait for results a plus because it's not a dramatic transformation, but rather a subtle, gradual change. To read more about Sculptra, click here.
