The 'Laser Bra' Discussed in Cosmetic Surgery Times
The Laser Bra, a method of breast reduction surgery, offers a fast recovery and beautiful results.
August 26, 2009 -- In a recent article discussing laser-assisted breast enhancement , the Cosmetic Surgery Times spoke with Dr. David Stoker of Marina Plastic Surgery in Los Angeles who talks about the Laser Bra, a method of breast reduction developed by Dr. Grant Stevens.
The Laser Bra technique is different in that it does not discard the excess skin left over after the breast is reduced. Rather, it uses this extra skin as an internal structural support that holds the breast up and helps maintain a nice shape. It also assists in preserving blood flow to the area, resulting in a quicker healing time. Dr. Stoker goes on to say that he prefers using a laser over a scalpel for this procedure as it is "more reliable and effective than scalpel methods." He goes on to say that, "In my experience, the Laser Bra offers distinct advantages over any other approach to breast reduction or breast lift." While the procedure is gaining popularity and several physicians have been trained in its use, the Laser Bra method is relatively new and caution should be taken to ensure that the doctor is fully qualified to perform the Laser Bra surgery before going under the knife.
