The iPosture reminds you - Don't Slouch!

Just like mom used to tell you to stand up straight, iPosture does the same in a quiet buzz.

image of woman's backNo doubt, mom was right. Standing up straight does make you look and feel more confident. Your posture can make a lasting first impression. Slouching is unattractive. As a woman, you should learn to respect your back and what it does to help keep you going every day. Think of your back and core as your primary support system.

I admit, I am a sloucher. So I decided to give iPosture a try and see if I could experience the effects that it claims. I was very intrigued by the claims that iPosture makes for their new product. “Trim your waist line, maximize your height and gain confidence and energy.” The creators, Dr. Moacir Schnapp and Dr. Elma Schnapp developed the iPosture in August of 2008 to be a small, discreet personal posture coach. It's only one inch in diameter and the vibration is quiet, so you feel it without everyone around you hearing it.

I found the device very easy to use. You slip it on your bra strap or the edge of your shirt, stand up straight and push the button once to set your ideal posture. If you tilt more than 3 degrees in any direction, the iPosture buzzes you silently. It’s a great little reminder to “stand up straight” but without the disapproving look from mom.

It's hard to say how long you would need to wear this device to truly improve your posture habits. I’ve worn mine for 2 weeks and still find myself slipping if I don’t have it on. You’d be surprised at how you feel a little minor “soreness” after a day of wearing this at first, which is why the instructions call for wearing it only for 2-4 hours per day. Bottom line, I think the concept is great. Standing up straight is a good way to look taller and more confident and ease some of your health issues. $64.95 (plus processing and handling) seems a bit pricey for the reminders, but worth every penny if improves your posture!
