The Berns Triplets Talk to "The Doctors"

The 21 year old Berns triplets were badly burned in a home fire at only 17 months old. Until recently, there were no treatments to successfully minimize their scarring. They visit the set of "The Doctors" today to discuss how the UltraPulse fractional laser treatment helped them find relief.

Chandra, Jordan, and Trae Berns lived their lives with the painful reminder of a horrible night, their burn scars. While they slept in their crib, a house fire killed their mother and left them with third degree burns over large sections of their body.

They thought the scars would never go away until one day they stumbled across an internet video of Dr. Jill Waibel performing a fractional laser treatment . She used a new technology that inspired the girls to make an appointment right away. The new Lumenis UltraPulse CO2 fractional laser works differently than its predecessors by utilizing a deeper resurfacing technique. The laser is able to penetrate several layers of skin to reach the collagen below and stimulate growth, bringing about dramatic results.

UltraPulse delivers fractional treatments encompassing ActiveFX, DeepFX and TotalFX. Each procedure involves treating only a fraction of the skin's surface, leaving untouched skin to aid in the regeneration process. UltraPulse, the gold standard of CO2 lasers, is used to deliver a variety of low downtime treatments that can be customized.

The Berns triplets have started a new foundation called Three for Hope. The foundation seeks to assist those in need of treatment following fire, including laser skin treatments such as what the girls have had, support and resources for the survivors, and they hope to begin providing household items for families who've lost their homes in a fire.
