Jane Iredale Mineral Cosmetics - Coverage without Clogging

Jane Iredale mineral cosmetics is a full-service line of makeup designed to meet the needs of any woman.

Founded by Jane Iredale, the cosmetics company was the first to offer a full line of minerals-based makeup. Unlike some traditional forms of makeup that can clog pores and irritate the skin, Iredale wanted to create makeup that was actually good for the skin.

Iredale worked with plastic surgeons and dermatologists worldwide to create a minerals-based line of cosmetics, which was released to the market in 1994. The makeup is designed to not block pores, and contains almost no allergens, so anyone can wear the product lines. Each of the products has soothing, anti-inflammatory products and none of the cosmetics contain talc or parabens. The inert mineral composition of the makeup does not support the growth of bacteria, and all makeup in the line has been sensitivity tested. Finally, the products offer UVA and UVB protection, are water resistant, and offer complete coverage for problem conditions like rosacea or acne.

Because of the beneficial effects and the complete coverage, many plastic surgeons recommend Jane Iredale cosmetics for use after plastic surgery procedures, such as chemical peels and laser resurfacing. Jane Iredale's full line of cosmetics can mask the telltale signs of these plastic surgery procedures, and are gentle enough not to irritate skin that has been made more sensitive as a result of the rejuvenating cosmetic treatment.

Iredale believes there are nine steps in proper makeup application: mineral foundations, concealers, finishing touches, mineral eyeshadow, eyeliners, eye brows, mascaras, blushers and bronzers and lips. Iredale offers a mineral based cosmetic designed for each of these steps, all derived from her proprietary mineral formula. Their wide range of products cater to women of all skin tones, no matter the ethnicity or complexion. Glowing customer testimonials suggest that women are delighted with this offering and are amazed with the ability of the product to "leave… skin soft, give an SP and almost eliminate oily zones."
