Treat Your Age Spots and Wrinkles with Obagi Blue Peel
The Obagi Skin Peel, also known as the Blue Peel system, is a skin rejuvenation procedure used to create smoother and healthier looking skin. The Obagi Blue Peel system is ideal for all skin types and can beautifully transform the skin.
The Blue Peel is used to treat skin problems such as wrinkles, age spots, acne scars , oily skin, and enlarged pores. The peel is not reserved for the face but can also be used to treat other areas of the body, such as the back, neck, chest, hands, arms, and legs.
The Obagi Skin Peel improves the overall appearance of the skin through the elimination of the skin's outermost layers. By getting rid of outer layers that have become damaged by acne, aging and other external factors, an Obagi Skin peel can reveal fresher, younger, and more beautiful skin underneath. Some have described it as "skin being reborn." The Obagi Blue Peel is a simple chemical peel procedure that does not require patient sedation. Application of the chemical solution to the face or neck takes approximately 20 minutes to complete, depending on the number of coats required and the number of skin layers that must be removed. Patients should expect to feel a burning sensation that lasts for several minutes. Patients may also notice a bluish tint to the skin. This skin discoloration should dissipate within a day. After the procedure, patients will typically experience some swelling in the treated area. After 2-3 days, the skin will start its peeling process, which will continue for several days. Skin should completely be healed after 7-10 days and patients can expect smoother skin when the peel is complete. The skin complexion will continue to improve over several weeks, and within 4-6 weeks, the skin is generally clear, smooth, healthy, and firm. For maintenance and continued results, doctors recommend that the Obagi Nu-Derm System, a line of facial creams and toners, be used 6-12 weeks prior to the Blue Peel and again after the skin heals from the treatment.
