Mesotherapy Story on Seattle NBC King 5

One of the first doctors to perform Mesotherapy in the Seattle, Washington area was Dr. Virginia Stevens, MD. Dr. Stevens is also an instructor for the International Mesotherapy Lipotherapy Society, one of the original Mesotherapy training organizations in the United States.

On August 19, 2005, Seattle NBC affliate TV station published an article entitled "Injections treat cellulite". According to the story there is some controversy about whether Mesotherapy can dissolve away fat without liposuction surgery.

Dr. Bisson, the doctor attributed with popularizing Mesotherapy in the United States said "With the mesotherapy we use solutions to break down the fat, repair connective tissue, and to increase circulation.”

Mesotherapy is a series of injections of vitamins and medications into the mesoderm layer of the skin. According to Dr. Bissoon "With the mesotherapy we use solutions to break down the fat, repair connective tissue, and to increase circulation.”

Although there is discussion in the article about whether or not the procedure works and is safe, Carlene the woman who was interviewed admitted no complications other than itching and brusing and states “My friends have noticed a difference and they wonder if I'm using creams and this and that...and I tell them it's mesotherapy, but you know, if they want to do it, they can do it, if they don't, they don't.“
