Custom Acoustics Liposuction (CAL) or Nutational Infrasonic Liposuction (NIL) is the latest in liposuction technology. Pioneered by a Belgian physician who was performing multiple liposuctions daily, the procedure was developed with an aim towards reducing the amount of physical exertion a physician must expend when performing liposuction.

The CAL system provides many benefits, making the removal of fluid and soft tissue easier on both the physician and patient. It is FDA approved and has been presented at over 100 scientific symposiums throughout the world. Because of its many benefits, it is important for physicians to be made aware of the procedure, to observe how it is performed and to conduct further testing.

To achieve these important aims, the Medical Alliance Services, a medical technology service and distribution company, created the National Physician Observation Program. The program will allow physicians to observe other doctors performing the procedure, providing a benefit both to new doctors who want to learn the technique and to existing physicians who will have the benefit of observation in an authentic setting.

Having a network of physicians discussing, learning and observing the procedure will also promote safety and the further development of the technique. Physician observation is a common tool used in medicine to help advance science and to teach and educate. This exciting program opens up these opportunities to plastic surgeons and other interested physicians within the field.

The CEO of Medical Alliance Services, Paul Herchman, reports that "it is our vision to establish a network of centers where physicians who are interested in exploring office based liposuction, or have a desire to learn about Custom Acoustic Liposuction, may do so easily and without the typical restraints and pressures which they may experience form our industry." Herchman believes that in a tough economic climate and a competitive market, it is even more important to provide this opportunity for discussion, education and growth without doctors having to travel to conferences or other long-distance locations.

Medical Alliance Services, and the physicians joining the network, believe that doctors teaching other doctors is the best method of dissemination of information, and that sharing and having the opportunity to ask questions in real-time is the best and most effective way to promote the safe use of this revolutionary liposuction technique. They currently have Physician Observation Centers established throughout the U.S. and aim to add more as the program progresses.
