IPL for improved Skin Appearance discussed in the Wall Street Journal
Tuesday's Personal Journal discusses Pulsed Light and its effectiveness for removing broken capillaries, brown spots and freckles.
Pulsed Light or as referred to in the WSJ, "the IPL Photofacial" is probably the third most common procedure performed at most medical spas today. The most common procedures are arguably BOTOX (TM) and Laser Hair Removal (Reduction). The theme of the article is that although IPL is not very effective for wrinkles, most dermatoligists and skin doctors agree that Intense Pulsed Light is reliable and effective for brown spots, broken capillaries and freckles, commonly referred to as "the reds and browns."
