Crows Feet Run Scared from Thermage CPT

New device improves skin tightening without injection nor surgery.

Thermage CPT from Solta Medical is a radio frequency (RF) device that stimulates collagen growth in the skin, improving elasticity and the appearance of wrinkles. The procedure is completely non invasive - there is no incision nor needle, and patients report very little pain.

Dr. Drew Ordon of The Doctors recently performed this procedure on 49 year old Donna. She has the typical signs of aging but is not quite ready to undergo a full surgical facelift. The Thermage CPT can give her a subtle lift and improvement, removing years off her face without the need for costly, painful surgery.

At the start of the procedure, Dr. Ordon places a grid on Donna's face to ensure that all areas are treated. The doctor then applies the hand piece to each of the small boxes on her face to ensure even tightening throughout. The radio frequency waves tighten both the elastin and collagen and will actually stimulate new collagen growth so that improvements continue over time.

The Thermage CPT is an improvement on older Thermage technology. The hand piece vibrates during treatment, in effect tricking the brain and distracting it from the heat brought on by the RF waves. The brain registers the vibration rather than the heat, so that most patients do not need any topical nor injected anesthetic.
