Cellulite Myths:

1) Drinking more water removes cellulite - False 2) Exercise prevents cellulite - False (although the lack of exercise can increase cellulite) 3) Liposuction removes cellulite - False, cellulite is in the skin so removing fat from under the skin actually worsens the appearance of cellulite. 4) Healthy diet prevents cellulite - False (although a poor diet will make cellulite worse) 5) Cellulite occurs only in women - False (although the precentage of men with cellulite is small)

VelaShape - "The first and only non-surgical FDA cleared device for the body reshaping market and the first FDA Class II cleared platform for cellulite treatment" according to Syneron the manufacturer.

RF Technology that bulk heats the fat and destroys the fat cells. Can decrease thigh circumference and make cellulite look better.

SmoothShapes - "SmoothShapes system uses a technology called photomology for treating cellulite by restoring cells. SmoothShapes represents significant improvement in the way cellulite is treated" - according to Eleme' Medical the manufacturer.

SmoothShapes is a laser and a light source designed specifically to target fat cells and to make the fibrous tissue that causes cellulite more flexible. The review from the show is that SmoothShapes works and the 57 year old patient who had it performed lost 2 dress sizes and called it "a miracle".

One technology that wasn't discussed on the show but that doctors are impressed with is the Thermage for Cellulite tip . Thermage for Cellulite provides results after just one treatment.
