What Is Body-Jet?

Body-Jet is water assisted liposuction which is a new procedure that is changing the face of liposuction. Being more gentle than traditional liposuction, the body-jet uses water to loosen the fat. Some of the benefits of water assisted liposuction include:

  • Minimal discomfort
  • Rapid recovery
  • Accurate contours
  • Minimal risk
  • Reduction in procedure time

How Does Body-Jet Work?

Body-Jet Liposuction can be performed as an in-office procedure under local anesthesia. Using a pulsating water spray through a fan shaped nozzle, this technique loosens fat cells from their connective tissue while vital structures like blood vessels mostly stay intact.

Body-Jet is performed in 3 stages: first, during Infiltration, the area to be treated is numbed with fluid. During the next stage, Infiltration/Aspiration, gentle sprays of water are used to dislodge the fat from surrounding tissue and aspirated out with a tiny cannula. The last stage, Drying, is a final aspiration to remove any fluid for a more precise result.

Since the fat that is being aspirated is intact, Body-Jet is an ideal way to retrieve fat for a {!fat transfer} to other more desirable parts of the body. The gentle water pulses help retain the integrity of the fat cells while causing the least amount of damage to surrounding connective tissues.

What Are The Risks Of Body-Jet?

While Body-Jet is more gentle than traditional liposuction, there are still a few risks associated with the procedure, including some swelling, bruising, bleeding, temporary numbness or burning. These symptoms should abate within a short period of time. The incision site, where the cannula is inserted, may become infected or bleed so proper monitoring is highly encouraged post-procedure.

Why Should I Choose Body-Jet Over Traditional Liposuction?

By using less fluid than traditional liposuction procedures, the patient experiences a quick procedure that yields outstanding results. There is less swelling and less postoperative pain and bruising. Body-Jet may be performed under local anesthesia verses general anesthesia. Water-jet assisted liposuction also provides the ability to harvest fat for immediate transfer without the lengthy processing usually required.

How Much Does Body-Jet Cost?
