What are the ingredients in the mesotherapy injection?
Mesotherapy injections are from a solution of various vitamins, minerals, enzymes, plant extracts, anesthetics, medications and amino acids. The makeup of the solution varies depending on the needs of each patient and the effect desired while allowing for a greater level of safety when issues such as drug interactions and allergies exist.
Because the procedure isn’t standardized, it’s important to discuss with your doctor what is being injected and understand if there are any potential side affects. Some of the more common ingredients in the Mesotherapy "Cocktail" are Aminophylline (used for asthma treatment), Procaine and Isoproteranol (used for certain heart conditions). None of the drugs used in Mesotherapy are FDA approved for injectable purposes, the use as such is considered "off label" and is common in many medical procedures.
