As seen on Dr. Phil January 6, 2009

The Matrix IR Wrinkle Reduction procedure, featuring the revolutionary elōs(tm) Fractional technology, precisely heats the connective tissue within the targeted treatment area. The Matrix RF applicator is the first non-laser and non-light-based aesthetic device capable of creating tunable ablation/skin resurfacing impact, simulating the effects of different types of skin resurfacing lasers used for a range of aesthetic applications.

The Matrix IR Fractional Technology has just been introduced by Syneron, and is the only fractional laser to combine fractional optical energy with radio frequency for deep dermal heating for effective treatment of wrinkles. The collagen remodeling caused by Matrix IR treatments is designed for maximum penetration for consistent and effective treatment of wrinkles.

Matrix IR creates micro-thermal bands of heating while leaving the surrounding tissue in tact which in turn act as a "healing reservoir" for the thermally damaged tissue. The premise is that undamaged tissue works to promote quicker healing while ensuring there is limited or no patient downtime.

The Matrix RF is the first RF Ablative Fractional Device.
