Cellulite Busting Secrets Revealed - Velashape and Reaction by Viora

Unless you happen to be one of the few lucky people who's never experienced the dimpling and uneven skin texture more commonly known as cellulite - here are some things you need to know.

Some estimates say that as much as 90% of all women have cellulite and it's not only an affliction of the fat, but also affects thin women. The connective tissue of the skin forms something like a net over your fat and as the fat cells become engorged, they push up against that connective tissue resulting in the uneven texture. Men, on the other hand, have more tightly woven connective tissue, so they don't suffer from cellulite troubles as often as women do.

More than ever before, women have reason to hope. Treatments are now available to reduce the appearance of cellulite that not only firm the skin but can actually reduce thigh circumference.

Reaction by Viora uses adjustable radio frequency (RF) energy and vacuum manipulation to diminish cellulite's effect. Dr. Sharon Littzi, a dermatologist in Connecticut, has been using Reaction by Viora and is very pleased with her results. "We are using it primarily for facial skin tightening, neck tightening, but this machine actually has tremendous capabilities," says Dr. Littzi. "We also use it for cellulite reduction and inch reduction, body contouring. So it really has 3 major capabilities which are all very different in the same machine."

Dr. Richard Goldfarb, a cosmetic surgeon in Pennsylvania at the Center for SmartLipo says that the Reaction by Viora provides a "marked improvement in cellulite in the saddlebag area." He says treatment time is about 25-25 minutes for cellulite and most patients have 4-8 sessions, depending on age and the severity of the cellulite. "Patients who are younger who have more skin elasticity and less cellulite require fewer treatments. The ideal patient is premenopausal and not obese; someone who is in generally good health with a small amount of fat they'd like to be rid of."

Velashape uses RF and infrared light, along with tissue manipulation and vacuum therapy to reduce the appearance of cellulite. Used by Hollywood stars and reality vixens the Kardashians, Velashape is popular across the country. Dr. Shalini Kapoor-Grover of REVIVE: Beverly Hills Medical Institute uses VelaShape and says, "For women already in great shape, VelaShape helps smooth and contour curves."

She says she sees patients of both genders and uses VelaShape to treat more than just cellulite. "My VelaShape patients include men and women looking to not only smooth the top layer of the skin but also to even out stubborn pockets of fat on the thighs, buttocks, stomach, back and arms that are not reduced with diet and exercise alone."
