After attending training at the end of January, Dr. Mark Deutsch will be one of the first plastic surgeons in Atlanta to offer Voluma XC. Approved by the FDA in October 2013, it is different from Juvederm XC, which is used to temporarily fill and smooth wrinkles and fine lines around the nose and mouth. Voluma, is intended to treat the cheek area, providing instant volume and contour.
Both Juvederm products are made of Hyaluronic Acid (HA), which is a naturally occurring, hydrating substance. As people age, they naturally lose HA causing skin to lose volume and structure. Since the gel is formulated with a substance naturally found in the skin, results are longer lasting — Voluma XC can last up to two years.
“Juvederm is the number one family of fillers, and their latest product is safe and effective as a non-surgical alternative to combat age and loss of skin volume,” said Dr. Deutsch. “I am looking forward to offering this new filler to my patients to create a subtle lift and youthful appearance.”
